An overview is presented of mechanistic, phenomenological, and probabilistic approaches to analysis of LMFBR accidents involving core disruption. A technical review is made of the current status of the issues involved in disrupted core dynamics, and an assessment is given of the likelihood of potentially damaging excursions. 14 refs
