Effect of temperature conditions of ion irradiation on Nb3Sn film superconductivity and ''in situ'' structure

Description

Effect of radiation temperature (<20K and ∼300 K) on superconductivity and ''in situ'' structure of Nb3Sn films is investigated. Films were irradiated by He ions with 12 MeV energy and Ne ions with 1.6 MeV energy up to fluences corresponding to the effect up to 0.1 of shifts per atom. Dependence of change in critical temperature on change in the lattice parameter under irradiation was determined. Low-temperature irradiation is shown to differ sufficiently from high-temperature. Irradiation at 300 K is similar to the effect on Tc and the lattice parameter - to low-temperature one with further annealing at 300 K. Equivalence of the processes of defect formation and annealing under irradiation by light and heavy particles up to different levels of defectivity is established
