Some common peculiarities of solar and stellar magnetic fields

Description

The measured values of the ratio of magnetic field strengths in active and quiet regions on the Sun are shown to be dependent on the equivalent width of different FeI lines. This dependence is similar to that obtained for magnetic variable stellar rotators. Possible explanation of this effect by a difference of chemical composition of quiet and active regions is proposed
