The Hubble Space Telescope and other initiatives
Description
The scientific investigations which are planned for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) are discussed. The possibility of detecting planetary systems around stars other than the sun using the HST is addressed, and investigations of exotic systems, the interstellar medium, and other galaxies using the HST are summarized. The use of AXAF to study distant quasars, the inner regions of Seyfert nuclei, and other phenomena is briefly discussed. 7 refs
