Field-induced transition from a pseudogap state to a heavy-fermion state in the Kondo-lattice system CeNiSn

Description
The magnetization and magnetoresistance have been measured on single crystalline CeNiSn with a pseudogap in the density of states. In a field of 13 T applied along the a-axis at 1.3 K, we found a weak metamagnetic-like transition concomitant with a semiconductor to heavy-fermion like transition. We ascribe these transitions to the collapse of the V-shaped pseudogap due to the external field. (orig.)
