Correlations in the two-particle inclusive reactions π+- + p → π-+ π- + anything

Description
We present rapidity distributions for the one- and two-particle inclusive reactions π⁻+p→π⁻ + anything and π⁻+p→π⁻+π⁻ + anything at 8 and 18.5 GeV/c, and π⁺+p→π⁻ + anything and π⁺+p→π⁻+π⁻ + anything at 18.5 GeV/c. The two-particle correlation functions for these reactions are observed to show strong dependence on the rapidities of the final-state particles and on the nature and momentum of the incident particle. Systematic variations in these correlation functions are discussed.
