Rubidium-strontium age of the mica from Yakutian kimberlite rocks

Description
The results of the study of Rb-Sr-age of phlogopites from Yakutian kimberlite rocks are presented. 8 samples of phlogopite and 1 sample of biotite have been studied. It is shown that Rb-Sr-age of phlogopites constitutes 361+-3 million years, the initial 87Sr/86Sr ratio being 0.7183+-0.0013. Biotite age constituted 1648-1524 million years provided a supposition is made that the value of the initial isotope ratio of 87Sr/86Sr in it varies within 0.710-0.7183. A prospect for Rb-Sr dating of kimberlites according to phlogopite is pointed out
