Nuclear structure in the actinide elements

Creators

  • 1. Lawrence Livermore National Lab., CA (USA)

Description

A review of recent experimental studies of nuclear structure in the actinide region of their interpretation is presented. Emphasis is put on the delineation of fundamental modes of excitation, single-particle and collective and their interactions with one another. Diverse other topics such as spontaneous fission and other decay modes in shape isomers, beta-delayed spontaneous fission, heavy fragment radioactivity, and evidence for stable octupole deformation are discussed
