Power fluidics gives birth to new design of pump
Creators
Description
A pump which has no moving parts and is maintenance-free is now being manufactured for the process industries. Developed by AEA Technology to meet the needs of the nuclear industry, the system uses power fluidics technology which utilises the hydrodynamic forces created by the process liquids themselves to achieve flow management. The result is a pump which can handle a wide range of materials from obnoxious and poisonous liquids and abrasive slurries to pharmaceutical and food products. A joint venture between AEA Technology and Alpha Technical Services has been set up to market the Fluidtec pumps. (author)
