Description

We have demonstrated a new two-dimensional multi-grid-type Micro Strip Gas Chamber (MSGC). Small pieces of electrodes (pads) consisting of a part of the cathode and weakly coupled to the ground are used in the readout method of this type of MSGC. A multi-layer technology is also used for the signal encoding and reducing the number of interconnections. Test plate has been fabricated and tested to demonstrate the Global-Local Grouping (GLG) encoding method. (T. Tanaka)
