Electricity consumption analysis in the tertiary sector (business, hospitals, hotels) - Report. Consumption follow up in the tertiary sector (22/05/2018 - Version 3.0)

Tool of observation and information of the Reunion Island energy situation the, the Reunion Energy Observatory (OER) translates the will of the various partners to obtain a specific instrument of support to the control of energy and the development of renewable energies action as well as evaluation of these actions. The mission of the OER is to collect the data, to treat them and diffuse the data necessary for the development and the implementation of the local and regional politics of energy. These data are presented in the Energy Assessment of Reunion Island. Following the analysis of the electricity consumption, the OER wanted to implement the 2008 energy report by focusing on electricity consumption in the tertiary sector, for the years 2006, 2007 and 2008. This sector goes from the trade activities to the administration, via transport, financial and real activities, services with companies and services with the private individuals, education, health and social action. Because the economy tertiarization and the rapid electricity consumption growth, the tertiary sector control of the electricity demand is a major stake. As the tertiary sector is broad, this first study focussed on Hospitals (public and private) and on Hotels of more than thirty rooms. The objective was to determine the electricity consumptions distribution by post. Several information was required: the installed powers (kW), the total and by post electricity consumption (kWh), and the establishments surfaces. These data are presented in the first report. A second report, published in 2018, provides an update to the 2008 indicators by focussing on the electricity consumption in hotels only. A detailed energy diagnosis is made for 7 hotels and the results are reported in the appendix
