Neutrino mixings and right-handed currents in M/sub l/2 decays

Description

With a view to ascertaining whether the present experimental values of muon polarization P+(M/sub mu2/+) and the ratio R/sub M/ = B(M+→e+ν/sub e/)/B(M+→ μ+ν/sub μ/) in M/sub l/2 decays (M = K,π; l = e,μ) could admit a finite neutrino mass, neutrino mixings, and right-handed currents (RHC's), we have reexamined the decays with the inclusion of these factors. The polarization value P+(K/sub mu2/), admits a varied range of neutrino mass along with RHC contributions. The present values of R/sub K/ and R/sub π/ do not favor Kobayashi-Maskawa mixings in the neutrino sector. Electron polarization P/sub e/+(M/sub e2/), if measured, could be decisive in ascertaining the nature of neutrino mixings
