On the determination of parameters of Moessbauer absorption spectra at ultrasonic excitation

Abstract The influence of acoustic oscillations produced in an absorber on the shape of Mössbauer absorption lines is discussed. It is shown that the absorption lineshape strongly depends on the excited acoustic wave parameters in the absorber i.e. on the ultrasonic wave amplitude, its frequency, and standing wave coefficient. Some possible applications, especically the possibility of acoustic modulation of the Mössbauer emission passing the absorber are examined.
