Description
We present simple lower bounds on the ground state energy of the 2D Hubbard model for various values of band filling and coupling constant. We derive two types of bounds, both based on decomposing the model Hamiltonian into a sum of a sub-Hamiltonians. We show how these bounds can be used, in principle, to investigate the stability of the Nagaoka state in the Hubbard model. (orig.)
