Csub(lambda) and Csub(E) values
Description
Csub(lambda) and Csub(E) values for use with a Farmer ionisation chamber were obtained with an MEL(SL 75/20) linear accelerator using both an absorbed dose calorimeter and ferrous sulphate. Results are summarised and compared with ICRU recommended values. They support the view that the discrepancy in the values of Csub(lambda) and Csub(E) is due to an error in the definition of Csub(lambda) rather than Csub(E). Equations are proposed for the calculation of C at all photon energies taking into consideration the nature and thickness of the chamber wall material
