Manual of recent techniques for LWR radiation-field control
Description
This manual describes recent techniques developed by the Electric Power Research Institute for reducing out-of-core radiation fields in light water reactors. The fundamental processes of corrosion product transport and activation are briefly outlined, and the four main technical areas described. Recent developments aimed at reducing cobalt sources, preconditioning surfaces, controlling water chemistry, and decontamination are reviewed. Finally, currently available methods for controlling plant radiation fields are described. 34 refs., 28 figs
