Determination of foreign phases in barium-europium-magnesium aluminate phosphors by means of X-ray powder diffraction

Description

The nature and amount of foreign phases of barium-europium-magnesium aluminate phosphor, produced in a solid-state reaction, were determined by X-ray powder diffraction. The corrected formulas show the formed phosphors to be of the β-Al2O3 structure, either in the composition Ba/sub x/Eu/sub 1-x/MgAl10O17 or Ba/sub x/Eu/sub 1-x/Mg2Al16O27. (author)
