The CEA is a public research organization. A key player in research, development and innovation, it operates in 6 major sectors: defense and national security, nuclear and renewable energies, biotechnology and medical research, technological research for industry, fundamental research (matter and life sciences) and the clean-up and dismantling of nuclear facilities. For the past 75 years, thanks to the excellence of its research and its partnerships, the CEA has been at the origin of numerous applications that influence our daily lives. This brochure presents, first, some key figures and historical milestones of the CEA and then briefly presents each of its sectors of research
