Influence of the Ti(III)/Ti(IV) ratio on the process of Ni(II) and Co(II) reduction in solution up to metals

Description

The influence of the Ti(III)/Ti(IV) molar ratio on the process of iron subgroup metal powders deposition was investigated. The rate and degree of metal reduction are shown to decrease, when Ti(IV) is introduced into a deposition solution whereas under certain conditions that decrease is. At the same time Ti(IV) introduced enables the concurrent side process of water reduction with Ti(III) complexes to be essentially suppressed. (authors)
