Extraction and recovery of Am (III) from acidic effluents using tetra octyl diglycolamide (TODGA)
- 1. Fuel Reprocessing Div., Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
- 2. Radiochemistry Div., Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)
Description
The development of an alternate method to recover and concentrate Am selectively from the high acid loading effluent will be a breakthrough in Am processing. Essential requirements for such work is the availability of extractants capable of extracting Am(III) from 7-8M HNO3
