Research into the quantum states in the Earth's gravitational field above a mirror

Description

The experiment for studying the quantization of neutron state in the potential wave, produced by the Earth gravitational field and a horizontal mirror, is presented. Preliminary results of the experiment, carried out by means of a position sensitive detector with the resolution of 1-2 μm, are described. The obtained data confirm the presence of state quantization and permit to estimate the dimensions of the Eigen wave functions of neutrons

Abstract (Russian)

Представлен эксперимент, в котором изучается явление квантования состояний нейтронов в потенциальной яме, образованной гравитационным полем Земли и горизонтальным зеркалом. Описаны предварительные результаты этого эксперимента, выполненного с помощью позиционно-чувствительного детектора с разрешением 1-2 мкм. Полученные данные подтверждают наличие квантования состояний и позволяют оценить размеры собственных волновых функций нейтронов
