On MHD flow of an incompressible conducting fluid through porous elliptic cylindrical ducts

  • 1. Govt. P.G. College, Rishikesh (India). Dept. of Mathematics

Description

The general equations of motion for viscous flow through a rigid porous medium and modification of Lorentz force are used to solve the flow of an incompressible conducting fluid through porous elliptic cylindrical ducts. The exact solution of the fluid equations for a pressure gradient along the direction of flow has been found. It is shown that this MHD flow is self-superposable and an irrotational flow on which it is superposable is determined. Some observations have been made about the vorticity and stream functions of the flow by using the properties of superposability and self-superposability. (author). 2 figs., 6 refs
