12C(psup(→),nsup(→))12N spin-transfer measurement at O0 and the effective nucleon-nucleon interaction

Description
The spin-transfer coefficient Ksub(y)sup(y')(O0) has been measured for the reaction 12C(p-vector, n-vector)12N at Esub(p)=65 MeV using the neutron double scattering technique. Microscopic DWBA calculations with the M3Y effective interaction give a qualitative account of the Ksub(y)sup(y')(O0) data for the 1+ transition. Better agreement is obtained if the high-q component of the tensor force is reduced. (author)
