Study of isobaric analogue states in 52Cr

  • 1. Indian Inst. of Tech., Kanpur. Dept. of Physics

Description

A detailed investigation of the gamma decay of four analogue resonances in the reaction 51V(p,γ)52Cr has been performed in the proton energy range Esub(p) = 0.7-2.0 MeV. From (p,GAMMA) angular distributions, mixing ratios of primary gamma transitions depopulating the analogue resonances and Jsup(π) values of some states populated in the gamma decay have been obtained. Decay schemes, branching ratios, partial gamma widths and resonance strengths have been determined for these IAR's. Upper limits of M1 transition rates from analogue states to low-lying states are found to be of the order of few mWu. The analogue states are seen to decay significantly to a group of states in the region of excitation 3.4 to 6.0 MeV. (author)
