Measures for limiting the effects of nuclear meltdown accidents
Description
The Swedish Government in 1986 specified to the Swedish nuclear power plant operators a programme for the protection of power stations against possible reactor accidents. When these activities are completed in 1988, all Swedish nuclear power plants will be protected against radioactive emissions in the event of a nuclear meltdown. Comprehensive accident management procedures and good training of personnel can effectively limit the effects of nuclear meltdown accidents. (orig.)

Die schwedische Regierung hat den schwedischen Kernkraftwerksbetreibern 1986 ein Programm zur Ertuechtigung der Kraftwerke gegen moegliche Reaktorunfaelle vorgeschrieben. Wenn diese Auflagen 1988 erfuellt sind, werden alle schwedischen Kernkraftwerke gegen radioaktive Abgaben im Falle des Kernschmelzens gesichert sein. Umfangreiche Unfallmanagementverfahren und gute Personalausbildung werden die Auswirkungen von Kernschmelzunfaellen wirksam begrenzen. (orig.)Additional details
