Austenitic forgings for turbogenerator applications
Description
It is reported on the successfully manufactured inner rotor body and support cylinder for a superconducting generator model machine. This model machine has the decisive diameters which would be necessary for a 800 - 1000 MW power plant generator. The properties profile - including tensile, toughness, fatigue and UT results - is very good. The accuracy for the choice of the 19Cr16Ni5MnMoN steel is completely confirmed
