Charged pion photoproduction from 12C

Description
The photoproduction of pions from 12C leading to the ground states of 12N and 12B is studied in the distorted-wave impulse approximation theory using the nuclear wave functions of Hirooka et al. The final state interaction is incorporated by solving the wave equation with a suitable pion-nucleus optical potential. The calculations are in reasonable agreement with the available experimental data and the existing theoretical calculations. (Auth.)
