Light scattering in an inhomogeneous reflection nebula
Description
A spherical nebula with the deficiency of smaller size particles in a region surrounding a central star has been considered. Single scattering was assumed. The Mie theory has been used to calculate the scattering functions for spherical silicate and dirty ice particles. It has been shown that for the inhomogeneous nebula the degree of polarization can decrease considerably, especially in V and R colour bands
