Nuclide monitoring removed in secondary cooling water system with direct counting methods in reactor RSG GAS

Description

At the 98th core reactor operation there was a trouble in the PA02 CR001 system so that monitoring of the release of the fission product of gamma transmitters in the secondary cooling water caused by the leakage of primary cooling water to the secondary cooling system could not be carried out. So monitoring the release of nuclide in secondary cooling water by direct counting, namely by taking a secondary cooling water sample at a predetermined point and then counting using the gamma spectrometry HPGe model GC2018. So that it can be estimated that the nuclide indeed originated from the leakage tube of the heat exchanger system or is only a background count. The results of background count showed the presence of 60Co 0.021 counts per second (cps). While the results of count from secondary cooling water on the 98th terrace of operation IV showed 60Co of 0.019 counts per second (cps), operation V of 0.018 counts per second (cps), and operation IX of 0.017 counts per second (cps). Monitoring of secondary cooling system is also carried out after the reactor shutdown in operation IX. The result of counting show the same nuclide which is 60Co of 0.020 counts per second (cps). The same types of nuclides with background counts and the number of counts per second that aren't much different indicate that the nuclides detected in secondary cooling water system come from background counts, not from leakage system heat exchangers.
