Nuclear magnetic resonance and incoherent neutron scattering in NH4Cl (theory and experiment)
Description
Ammonium chloride (NH4Cl) exhibits a structural phase transition at 2420K under atmospheric pressure. Due to the simple two-state nature of this structural ordering, NH4Cl represents an ideal substance for studying order-disorder phenomena. The properties of the transition have been the subject of numerous experimental investigations. Some of the experiments using nuclear magnetic resonance and incoherent neutron scattering are reviewed. (Auth.)
