Description
The sorption of Pu from nitric acid solutions containing fluoride was studied using indigenously available macroporous bifunctional phosphinic acid (MPBPA) resin. The batch data were obtained under different conditions. The data showed high distribution ratio (D) values even in presence of a strong complexing ion like fluoride indicating the possibility of recovery of Pu from this type of waste solutions. The column studies were carried out using the resin to recover Pu from the actual oxalate supernate waste solution, which showed that about 99% of Pu is adsorbed on the resin. (author)
