The availability of the detection method of internal valve leakage using acoustic method
- 1. Central Research Inst. of Electric power Industry, Komae, Tokyo (Japan). Komae Research Lab.
Description
The purpose of this study is to estimate the availability of acoustic method to the internal leakage of the valves at nuclear power plants. Experiments have been carried out by using the internal leakage of nitrogen gas and pressurized room temperature water through the gate valves on the real size. According to the experimental results of the acoustic intensity emitted from internal leakage, the availability of the acoustic method for the valve leakage monitoring at nuclear power plants was suggested.
