Application of deconvolution in dose calculations. 159

  • 1. Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York (USA)

Description

A method has been developed to extract pencil beam kernels from measured broad beam profiles by deconvolution. The extracted pencil beam kernels were used to compute photon and electron dose distributions in water for rectangular beams of various sizes. The comparisons between measured and computed profiles show excellent agreement. This method can be employed to compute doses for fields of arbitrary shapes and sizes. 8 refs.; 5 figs
