Dynamic radioisotope study of the internal carotid region of the neck in cerebrovascular disease

Description
The results of radionuclide angioscintigraphy were evaluated in patients with stricture or occlusion of the extracranial part of the internal carotid artery. Time-activity curves for the first 13s were generated from left and right internal carotid regions of interest of the neck. The differences between the counts from symmetric regions of interest were measured. We observed decreased activity in regions of interest in cases with stricture of the internal carotid. The first 13s were significant for evaluation of the extracranial part of the internal carotid. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Die Ergebnisse der Radionuklid-Angioszintigraphie wurden bei Patienten mit Struktur oder Verschluss des extrakranialen Teils der inneren Carotis ueberprueft. Von den linken und rechten inneren Carotisabschnitten des Halses die dabei von Interesse waren, wurden Zeitaktivitaetskurven fuer die ersten 13s erstellt. Die unterschiedlichen Zaehlraten symmetrischer interessierender Bereiche wurden gemessen. Bei Patienten mit Striktur der inneren Carotis wurde eine verringerte Aktivitaet in den interessierenden Bereichen gemessen. Die ersten 13s waren signifikant fuer die Beurteilung des extrakranialen Teils der inneren Carotis. (orig.)Additional details
