Probability analysis of levels 2 and 3 for the RA-10 reactor licensing process

Description

In this paper we present the Probabilistic Security Analysis Levels 2 (APS N2) and 3 (APS N3), and the integration of the Radiological Risk of the public. The objective is Demonstrate, with the proposed methodology, the verification of the criterion curve of the Standard AR4.1.3 for the public established by the Argentine Nuclear Regulatory Authority (RNA), according to the scope defined in the RA-10 Reactor Licensing process. From the sequences of events analyzed in APS N1, we identify those that Present damage to the sources of radioactive material (EECC of the nucleus, EECC of the pool Of service, irradiation devices) and are grouped in Plant Damage States (EDP) According to the source of radioactive material, the progression of the severe accident and the Magnitude of the damage. These groups make up the input data for APS N2. For At this level the simplifying assumptions made lead to the absence of variants in the Progression of the severe accident or in the pathways of release to the atmosphere for each Of EDP. Therefore, the Release Categories (CL) that constitute the interface Between Level 2 and Level 3, are directly linked to EDPs. Five CL characterized by a Source Term (TF) and a frequency of occurrence. These TFs, together with the relevant site weather data To the period 2001-2010 and the current demographic distribution, make up the data set Input for APS N3. At this level, atmospheric dispersion and dose calculations Effective were performed using the WinMACCS code. Subsequently the risk was calculated Radiological of the public in each point of the RA-10 environment and for each CL. The maximum value of Radiological Risk of the public obtained for each CL with the limit value of 10-7 of Standard AR4.1.3 for the public. It was observed that the value Of Radiological Risk of each CL is less than 10-7, verifying that all cases are Outside the limits of the non-acceptance condition.
