Multiplicity of secondary particles in π-Ne interactions and the multiple scattering model

Description
The experimental data on the multiple production of particles in π-Ne interactions at 25 and 50 GeV/c are compared to the multiple-scattering model calculations. The multiplicity distributions, the distributions in the total electric charge of the relativistic particles, correlation between the mean multiplicities and total electric charge, a part of the quasi-nucleon events are considered. The contribution given by the intranuclear cascade has not been included. A good agreement with the experiment has been obtained. The results are discussed from the point of view of the quark structure of hadrons
