  • 1. Schering-Plough, Bloomfield, NJ (United States)
  • 2. Karolinska Inst., Stockholm (Sweden)

Description

SCH 39166 ((-)-trans-6,7,7a,8,9,13b-hexahydro-3-chloro-2-hydroxy-N-methyl-5H-benzo(d)naptho-(2,1-b)azepine) is a new potent D-1 dopamine antagonist which is more selective than the more commonly used SCH 23390. The authors have synthesized SCH 39166 with a carbon-11 label and conducted PET experiments in a cynomolgus monkey. Synthetic steps and in vivo experiments are discussed
