Analysis of Yugoslav's passive nuclear technology risk

Description
This paper presents the analysis of the nuclear risk from peaceful uses of nuclear energy in the neighbouring countries ( sup n uclear damage sup ). Responsibility for nuclear damage is controlled by special legal regulations. The risks and damages of over boundary nuclear activities are included in international conventions and contracts. In 1977 Socialistic Federative Republic of Yugoslavia has regulated this subject by me Law about nuclear damage, which has been renewed several times up to 1990. After the 1996, nuclear damage in Yugoslavia has been regulated by the forth chapter of me Radiation Protection Law. These questions deserve serious attention for me following reasons: (a) Risks due to potential accidents on NPPs in the neighbouring countries exist as a reality; (b) Nuclear damage in reality are difficult to measure having long-term effects and consequences; (c) In our country it has passed a Law forbidding construction of NPPs, which induced problems dealing with related nuclear activities; (d) Those questions arc followed, in principle, by political implications, and (e) In spite of numerous existing international conventions and declarations mere is no actual experience in their application in estimating damage arising from NPP accident.
