Design of development of non-invasive wearable real time vital signs monitor based on IoT
Description
The research titled ″Design And Development of Non-Invasive Wearable Real Time Vital Signs Monitor Based on IoT″ aims to develop a non-invasive IoT-based health monitoring prototype capable of measuring heart rate, oxygen saturation (SpO2), and body temperature for various age groups. The SpO2 and heart rate measurements utilize Photo Plethysmography (PPG) technology based on reflectance, while body temperature measurement relies on the infrared principle. The examination of vital signs plays a crucial role in monitoring physiological health conditions of patients, in line with the development of science and technology in the medical field to create a compact health device with various features for patient vital sign monitoring. This research encompasses a wearable vital sign monitor prototype for body temperature monitoring and a non-wearable prototype for heart rate and oxygen saturation monitoring with a design resembling a box and wristwatch. The prototype utilizes the Internet of Things (IoT) platform with Thing Speak for data communication, as well as MIT App Inventor for creating an application that can be accessed via Android smartphone. Quantitative evaluation results show that all three vital signs exhibit accuracy: 92,22 % for heart rate, 98,58 % for oxygen saturation, and 98,78 % for body temperature. (author)
