Description

The Beijing Electron Positron Collider Major Upgrade (BEPCII) has achieved its goal for the positron injection rate at 50 mA/min by increasing beam injection frequency, improving targeting beam energy and improving the Flux. Besides, a two-bunch acceleration technology with sub-harmonic bunching system is newly proposed, aiming at enhancing the positron injection rate further and BEPCII future performance. The system needs two solid state microwave amplifiers as high power source which have tough specification on power and phase stabilization. A prototype design of this system is accomplished. The theory and engineering methods of designing a RF and microwave amplifier is discussed in this thesis. The driving stage is served as an example illustrating the matching circuit design and computer simulation and optimization process. Thanks to EDA tool Agilent EEsoft ADS, the design is finished concisely and efficiently. (authors)
