The Effect of Cerium Ion on Electrochemical Oxidation of TiAP by Ag(Ⅱ)

  • 1. Department of Radiochcmistry, China Institute of Atomic Energy, Beijing (China)

Description

The mediated electrochemical oxidation technology with Ag (Ⅱ) was used to destroy the waste organic solvent TiAP. In the paper, cerium ion was added into the anode electrolyte solution to improve the destruction efficiency. The influence of experimental conditions, such as the concentration of Ag (Ⅱ) and cerium ion, and temperature on the destruction efficiency was investigated. The results show that the destruction efficiency is increased as cerium ion is added for the TiAP electrochemical oxidation by Ag (Ⅱ). With the increasing of cerium ion concentration, the effect of destruction rate is gradually weakened. When 0.01 mol/L cerium ion was added to the electrolyte, the TOC value of anode solution was 1.3 g/L,which was 20% more than that no cerium ion. When the concentration of cerium ion is constant, increasing the silver ion concentration is beneficial to the destruction of TiAP. The effect of temperature on destruction of TiAP is significant, and the suitable temperature range is 60 ∼ 80 ℃. (authors)
