Desequilibrium 230Th-238U in lava from Chaine des Puys

Description
We have measured the 230Th-238U disequilibrium on basalts and trachytes from 'Chaine des Puys'. A datation of one basalt confirms its very young age (approximately 14.000 years). On the basis of disequilibrium data, we propose a differentiation model, with crustal contamination of the most evolved rocks

Des mesures des desequilibres radio-actifs 230Th-239U ont ete effectuees sur des basaltes et trachytes de la Chaine des Puys. Une datation confirme l'age tres jeune (environ 14000 ans) de l'un des basaltes.
