Investigation of sorptive properties of hydroxide of iron, manganese, titanium, aluminium and silicon with respect to 90Sr and 137Cs

Description
Sorptive properties of hydroxide of iron, manganese, titanium, aluminium and silicon of different crystallinity degree with respect to 90Sr and 137Cs in conditions approximating to natural ones with pH 4-9 are studied. Field observations show that on iron hydroxides radioisotope accumulation goes in quantities exceeding background values in 5-10 times. High sorptive capacity of studied amorphous hydroxides with respect to 90Sr is observed. 137Cs is sorbed actively by manganese hydroxides. Practical recommendations on their use are done

Изучены сорбционные свойства гидроксидов железа, марганца, титана, алюминия и кремния различной степени окристаллизованности по отношению к 90Sr и 137Cs в условиях pH 4-9, близких к природным. Полевые наблюдения показали, что на гидроксидах железа идет накопление радиоизотопов в количествах, превышающих фон в 5-10 раз. Отмечена высокая сорбционная емкость по отношению к 90Sr изученных аморфных гидроксидов. 137Cs особо активно поглощается гидроксидами марганца.
