Thermodynamical analysis of cerium application for reduction of nickel base alloys
Description
As a result of thermodynamic analysis, conditions for reduction of nickel and nickel-chromium alloys are determined to ensure the minimum oxygen contents; at [Ce]=0.088 wt.% in the alloys, minimum attainable concentrations of oxygen increase with the chromium content. Experimental data on ZhS6K alloy reduction with cerium are obtained. The presence of a minimum oxygen concentration, corresponding to the 0.076 wt.%, cerium content in the alloy is pointed out
