Description
Investigated is the possibility of fabricating a bimetal using an electroslag process, that permits to unite the weld surfacing, deoxidation and refining of metal. The fluxes have been used, that do not permit the overheating of the weld surfaced and the main metal. It has been shown that the fluxes, boiling at the weld surfacing temperature permit to apply a layer of copper or its alloys onto the steel without the melting of the main metal. This provides for the high strength and ductility of welded joints of dissimilar metals
