Description
This study analyses the thyroid metabolism of six neonates ten days after the injection of iodinated contrast products. The neonates have been chosen free from renal insufficiency. The metabolism was analysed through X fluorescence dosing of free T4 (tetraiodinothyronine) and TSE (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone). The elimination half-life of organic iodine approximated 12 hours, that corresponded to elimination of 75 to 85% of the load within 24 hours and to a residual amount of 0.1% of the dose five days after the injection. These results are discussed. (D.L.). 12 refs., 1 fig
