Investigation into radiation stability of organic fluoro-chlorine compounds

Description

On the basis of a study of unmixed radiolysis of two-phase systems: CCl2FCF2OCCl3, 30% TBP + 70% CCl2FCF2OCCl3, 30% TBP + 70% C6Cl3F3, contacted with 4N HNO3, a linear relationship between chlorine ion accumulation and radiation dose magnitude has been established. However, fluorine ion accumulation is nonlinear. Trifluorotrichlorobenzene has been found to be the most stable of the compounds tested. The effect of radiolysis on the emulsion stratification rate has been considered for an emulsion formed by an extraction mixture of 30% TBP + 70% solvent in contact with an alkali or acid. It has been found that for the systems investigated the stratification rate decreases as the irradiation dose is increased
