Design of manual control systems of safety rod on SAMOP reactors

Description
The design of manual control system of safety rod drivers in SAMOP reactor has been made. The design was designed to facilitate the construction step and can be coordinated with the Instrumentation and Control System (SIK) for data processing. This manual control system can still be operated to control the SAMOP reactor under sub-critical conditions at maximum power separately from SIK. The manual control system consists of an up and down safety rod drive system; upper and downer limit sensor; and a rod-positioned safety detector. The movement pulls up and push down the safety rod using a DC motor equipped with a rotary reducer. With this reducer the safety rod will not go down on its own even though the motor power supply is lost or removed. The moving of the DC motor drive is governed by an electronic drive system. This control system is equipped with scram facilities, for safety. In a scram condition the safety rod will fall apart from it's holder. In the event of a scram the holder of the safety rod will move down until it can re-hold the safety rod. The upper and downer limit sensor and sensing to hold the safety rod using Proximity sensors. To detect the position of the safety rod, 10-turn potentiometer is used. This design provides points for automatic control from SIK. (author)
