Coalescence model
Description
The codes using the nuclear reaction model by intranuclear cascade based on nucleon-nucleon scattering have been used for various simulation calculation. However, these codes can describe the release of nucleons, but cannot describe the release of composite particles of H-3, He-3, alpha and others. On the other hand, for describing the release of composite particles in heavy ion reaction, the coalescence model which considers that when the nucleons generated from the high temperature part occurred due to nuclear reaction have the same momentum, they mutually stick and create composite particles has been used. In this report, to what extent the experimental results were reproduced by the analysis using the coalescence model so far is described, and the possibility of describing the release of composite particles based on the nucleon spectra obtained with the intranuclear cascade model is discussed. The coalescence model was devised to explain the mechanism of forming deuterons released by the reaction of high energy protons and nuclei. The probability of releasing composite particles and the application of the model are explained. (K.I.)
