Multiphoton transitions to and from autoionizing states and ionizing continuum
- 1. Atomic and Molecular Physics Section, Dept. of Materials Science, Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Calcutta (India)
Description
Study of multiphoton processes in atoms and molecules have been intensified both experimentally and theoretically because of the fact that the atomic and molecular structure can be probed more efficiently and in more detail than that is done in single photon spectroscopy. With the fast growing availability of intense radiation sources in a wide range of wavelength UV to IR, another dimension of study has opened up, i.e. the study of the dynamics of multiphoton ionization, autoionization, dissociation processes as a function of laser intensity, polarization, pulse duration, etc
